2026 cost reference
Medicare costs: start with the categories.
A monthly premium is only part of the picture. These figures are a starting point for understanding costs, not a personalized estimate.

This is an annual reference for people planning Medicare costs, rather than an announcement of a new September change. Medicare costs come in different categories, and not every figure describes your total spending.
2026 cost categories
Standard Part B premium
Income-related adjustments and other circumstances can affect what a person pays.
Part B deductible
This does not include all medical out-of-pocket costs.
Part A inpatient deductible
A benefit period is different from a calendar year.
Part D deductible ceiling
A plan may have a lower deductible or none.
Part D covered-drug out-of-pocket threshold
This is not a cap on all medical spending. Check covered drugs and the applicable plan rules.
Put the numbers in context.
Also consider applicable private plan premiums, Medigap premiums, cost sharing, and help you may qualify to receive. Check current plan documents for your own coverage.
Some 2027 figures have already been finalized. Do not use a projected figure as a final premium or reuse this 2026 page as a 2027 cost guide.
